The Ending 2 – After Credits

The smell of cordite and cheap cigarettes hung heavy in the air. The sharp iron tang of blood punctuated the white noise of smoke. Blood seeped slowly from my shoulder, and other parts. Phill lay on the floor a few feet away. I could see that he was still breathing. How many had we taken out? I hadn’t been counting but we definitely made a good showing. High score. Enter your name. What the fuck had we even done to these guys? It was just an average weekend. Maybe a little wild. We don’t always end up at the casino, […]

The Island

Light pours between my eyelids as I slowly open them to reveal a milky blue sky so pale as to be almost white. As I begin to stir I realize I’m laying in gentle green grass, almost cotton like in it’s softness. I’ve never seen grass like this before in my life. Surely it’s never seen a blade before. How did I end up here? Searching my mind I can’t bring anything to sharp focus. It’s as if everything up until this very moment is a blur. I’m not even sure who I am. Sitting up, my eyes take in […]

Phill and I – Part 1

The course hemp dug into my wrists as they twisted in vain to free themselves. I have to say, things weren’t looking good. Behind my back a low groan signalled Phill’s return to consciousness. I give him a jab with my elbow. “Hey! You with awake?” I whispered. “Mmmmph,” came the mumbled replay, “I had the worst dream.” “ Yeah well it’s not over yet.” As I glanced around the room I realized how true those words were. The gleaming steel and stone architecture of the place looked hewn out of a volcano. I couldn’t believe it. This place LOOKED […]

Upon a Misty Morn

a lightning flash and steel clash upon the foggy field two warriors duel, and as a rule, one’s end to be revealed like predators they circle at a slow and even pace following each others eyes and staring face to face upon this field of battle, below the morning sky who shall take a bonny bride and who’s lot is it to die she watches from a distance, a fret and worried miss that men are vying for her in a manner such as this As man has done for ages, upon this field of war these two men fight […]

Untitled – 4

I’ll come for thee across the land past rolling hills of heather And when I come to claim thy hand then we shall be together I dream of you and you of me I dream a dream that soon shall be And when I come across the land Then we shall be together I’d fight the horde for thee my love for thee I’d go through hell On eagles wings I’d soar above yet underneath your spell I’d fight for you and you for me We’re fighting for our love to be I fly upon the sky above Yet I’m […]

Opportunity Lost

I never realized I missed her till I saw her there today I want to tell her that I love her but I’ve got no words to say I never knew how much I’d lost nor what had been the cost till I saw it plain in front of me like a taunting prize to see I want to tell her that I want her but I doubt she’ll understand I want to tell her that I need her that I’m not just another man I want to look in to her eyes and share with her my pain I […]

Tech Support Woe (formerly “The Call Center’s Lament”)

I wrote this poem for a contest at work one time. I was working at a call centre, it was the holidays, and the supervisors were pretty desperate for anythong to keep morale up. I don’t know who came up with the idea, but this was my submission. There once was a woman reviled by her TV screen as it tiled she called tech support and gave this retort “this problem is getting me riled” For something off the top of my head, I guess it’s not bad, and it won the contest, so I guess there’s that!

Take Me

I want to fly away up to where the angels play but instead I’m sittin’ here all alone I smell of beer Take me; up to where those angels play Take me; to a place where I can be just be, just be myself. I’m so tired of being lonely sad and down and bitter only Take me; to a place where I can be Take me; to a place that I can see I’ve to make my own way there but I’ve help from friends who care Take me; I’ll take myself Help me; to help myself Take me […]

Nothing to Do

I’ve scaled mighty mountains and I’ve swum the briny sea All that is and ever was exists now just for me I command the very sky itself to do my every wish and whim All this power’s at my finger tips and I’ve no where to begin The stars above seem distant and the earth below pristine All this does not move me “why” fails to be seen I’m bored with being mighty and the power drives me mad I can do what ever comes to mind but no ideas can be had Despite my lofty situation I’m bored out […]

Legs

I wrote this for and about a lady I was seeing at the time. Nothing ever came of the relationship, but may as well take advantage of inspiration when it strikes I suppose. smooth as silk and soft as satin soft as angels feathered wings pale beauty and alluring of their praises my heart sings like moonlit marble sculpture they curve serenely upwards like something from a picture that’s worth a thousand words intriguing in their beauty their warmth is captivating as objects of desire they set men salivating to reach out and caress them is something few men do […]
